The Lactoferrin Rapid Test Sheet (Faeces) is an immunochromatographic method for the qualitative detection of lactoferrin in human faeces for the diagnosis of inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders.

Human lactoferrin, a glycoprotein of neutrophil origin, can be measured in stool and whole bowel washings as an indicator of intestinal inflammation in both IBD and infectious gastroenteritis. Previous studies have shown that faecal lactoferrin (FL) is a sensitive biomarker for detecting IBD in children and is therefore most useful for diagnosis and therapy in children and adults.
