With the new LED Nystagmus Goggles, we offer an improved version of our proven Frenzel and Blessing nystagmus goggles. The model 801 with headband and connector cable can be used for prolonged examinations where the LED nystagmus goggles are attached to the patient's head using the headband, e.g. for thermal examination of calonic nystagmus. The test is performed in a dark room or in a heavily darkened room. The internal illumination of the spectacles interrupts the patient's optical contact with the environment. The new LED nystagmus goggles are illuminated by diodes placed in a circle behind a light-emitting plate, which produce diffuse light of adjustable brightness without any fixable light spots that affect the test result. A timer function facilitates the observation of deviations within a defined time interval (30, 60 or 90 seconds). The automatic on/off function can be switched off for the cabled versions of the LED Nystagmus goggles. Here, the illumination is switched off one minute after the timer expires, and the LED Nystagmus goggles are automatically switched back on when they are reapplied. This energy-saving feature, together with a low battery indicator, is intended to ensure the constant availability of the LED Nystagmus goggles.
