Correct measuring position:
To take the measurement, sit in a relaxed and comfortable position at a comfortable room temperature. Avoid bathing, drinking alcoholic beverages or caffeine, smoking, exercising or eating for 30 minutes before taking measurements.

Sit up straight
Cuffs should be as high as your heart.
Relax your wrists and hands. Do not bend backwards, rotate your wrist or clench your fist.

We recommend the wrist blood pressure monitor only for quick checks, and preferably only under the age of 40, and if the upper arm is so thick that the cuff cannot be fitted. The arteries in the wrist are further from the heart than the arteries in the upper arm, and thinner, so may give a different result than the upper arm! An upper arm blood pressure monitor is recommended for patients with thin wrists, severe weight loss, elderly or poor circulation.
