The Model 823 can be used for short-term illuminated spectacle examinations in mobile use. The actual illuminated spectacle examination is performed in a dark room or in a heavily darkened room. The internal illumination of the spectacles breaks the optical contact of the patient with the environment (eliminating the fixation that prevents nystagmus). The new LED nystagmus spectacles are illuminated by diodes placed in a circle behind the illuminating plate, which produce diffuse light of adjustable brightness without fixed light points that could affect the result of the examination. in the battery-powered versions of the LED nystagmus goggles, a timer function facilitates the observation of excursions within a certain time interval (30, 60 or 90 seconds). In addition, one minute after the timer expires, the LED Nystagmus Goggles turn off the illumination and the LED Nystagmus Goggles automatically turn it back on when the timer is reset. This energy-saving feature, together with the low battery indicator, is intended to ensure the constant availability of the LED Nystagmus Spectacles.
