The IO (intraosseous) needle can be used in the following cases :
- Hypovolemic shock caused by a traumatic condition or dehydration
- Cardiac arrest and circulatory collapse
- Epileptic condition (SE)
- Asthmatic condition (SA)
- Extensive burns and burn shock
- Drowning
- Sepsis and septic shock
- Other medical conditions where immediate intravenous access is required but standard IV access is difficult or impossible.
